The Patache Phone Sling

The Patache Phone Sling leather PDF pattern is a quick and fun no-sew leather crafting project for a light summer carry that will fit your phone and a slim cardholder or wallet. The pattern also includes an optional external card pocket for your most used card that will introduce some stitching to the build. The closure of the phone sling can be done in a couple of ways - a leather strap that can be a good color highlight in the front of the sling - or a snap button for even quicker crafting. If you carry your phone in your pocket, the Patache can become a small purse holding a few daily essentials instead of your phone.

The Patache Sling holds phones up to 17.0cm/8.5cm/1.5cm in size inclusive of the phone case you might be using. For example big phones like Apple iPhone 16 Plus and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL will fit in there with their cases on. THE PATACHE PHONE SLING

Dimensions: 17.5/11cm (~6.9/4.3 inches)

Skill level: Intermediate

Holds phones up to 17.0cm/8.5cm/1.5cm in size inclusive of the phone case you might be using. For example big phones like Apple iPhone 16 Plus and Google Pixel 9 Pro XL will fit in there with their cases on.

Leather:

> 1.6-1.8mm thickness (3.5-4 oz), medium to stiff temper for the body. You will need a leather panel that is 43.5cm by 14.0cm for the body (~18 by 6 inches). 2mm (5oz) leather will work too if you must. :)

> 1.4-1.6mm (3-3.5oz) thick leather for the Closure Strap & the Optional Card pocket and Washers.

> 130-135cm long leather cord that is 4mm or 5mm in diameter.

Pattern specific tools/materials:

> 5mm and 10mm hole punches

> 15mm hole punch if you will be making the leather washers. A 13mm or 14mm hole punch for those will work too.

> 1 x snap button if you will be making the snap button closure

> The irons spacing for the optional card pocket is 3.85mm but you can use other irons based on your preference.

Basic Instructions

> Print pattern at 100% scale and verify size using the Print Accuracy Test. Measure and cut on the outside edge of the lines.
